The Leo Club of Nilai University College had organize a two day blood donation on the 16th and 17th of November 2009. The campaign at ten o’clock, in the morning on both days and ended at four on the first day and on the second day, it was extended for another half and hour and it ended at four thirty..jpg)
There were members assigned to be at the booth in resource center to promote the event by encouraging them to donate their blood. On the first day, there were 48 respondents, where 24 donors had been accepted where as 24 to reject. On the second day, the response was better than the previous day, there were 79 respondents where 47 people successfully donated their blood and 32 people rejected people reasons for the rejection are from high and low blood pressure, underweight (below 45KG), piercing; health conditions, and lack of sleep (less than hours) to menstruation period. At the end of the campaign, there were a total of 127 participants who had responded to the event and 71 packs of blood bad been collected where many of the donors donated their blood for the first time..jpg)
From this blood donation campaign, we gained a lot of experience about how to organize an activity well and the knowledge regarding blood, especially when most of the committees were involve in blood donation campaign for the first time. We found that such campaign is educational and meaningful for everyone as it provide a chance for us to experience something new and save lives.
